Blown-In Insulation in Springdale, AR

The most cost-effective way to bring an under-insulated attic up to today's recommended R-value, usually in a single day. Serving Springdale from our Bentonville shop since 1996.

The phrase that comes up again and again in Springdale attics is "never been touched." The housing around the older core was largely built when attic insulation targets were a fraction of the current recommendation for this climate zone, and much of it has never been topped up since the day the house was finished.

The older core: starting from far behind

Around Downtown Springdale, Shaw, and Cardinal Hills, an attic inspection routinely finds original material sitting at depths that were normal generations ago, settled further by every year since. Against the Department of Energy's recommended R-38 to R-60 for this region, these attics are not marginally short; they are often several times too shallow. That gap is the good news, in a sense, because homes starting furthest behind see the biggest change from a top-up. The Department of Energy estimates air sealing plus insulation saves an average of 15 percent on heating and cooling, and attics that have never been touched often beat the average.

Blown-in fiberglass is the economical way to close a gap that size. It goes in through a hose in a single day, flows around the framing and ductwork, and in most cases installs directly over the original material if it is dry, clean, and free of rodent activity. Where we find contamination or water damage, removal comes first and is quoted up front.

The west side: smaller problems, cheaper fixes

The later subdivisions out toward Har-Ber Meadows and Elm Springs Road were built considerably tighter, and the findings there are specific rather than general. A bare patch where insulation was pushed aside and never raked back, which is why one bedroom runs cold while the rest of the house is fine. An attic hatch nobody insulated, sitting like a hole in the middle of otherwise decent coverage. Both are quick, inexpensive fixes, and both frequently turn out to be cheaper than the homeowner expected when they called.

That range is why we inspect before we quote, everywhere in Springdale. An older-core attic might need full depth; a Har-Ber-era attic might need an afternoon. If the inspection shows the real issue is air leakage or a duct problem rather than depth, you will hear that too, and sometimes the right tool is spray foam rather than more material.

Measured, not estimated

Install day is straightforward: blower outside, hose in, baffles at the eaves so the soffit vents stay open, and depth marked with rulers so you can see exactly what was achieved before we leave. Most Springdale attics are done in one day.

The blown-in insulation hub has the full technical picture, and the Springdale insulation page covers everything we do across the city. The free estimate is free in the plain sense: an in-person look, a measured answer, and a written price that does not move.

Blown-In Fiberglass questions in Springdale

What homeowners ask before we start.

How much does blown-in attic insulation cost?
Three things drive the price: the size and accessibility of the attic, how much depth has to be added to reach the recommended level, and whether old material has to come out first. Blown-in is the most cost-effective way to fix a thin attic, partly because it installs fast and can usually go over insulation that is still in serviceable condition. Every estimate is free, in person, and in writing, so you see the number before any work starts.
How long does a blown-in attic job take?
Most attics in Northwest Arkansas are finished in one day. Larger or harder-to-access homes can run into a second. We mark the finished depth with rulers, so before the crew leaves you can see exactly what was achieved and where. Your written estimate includes a firm timeline.
Should attic insulation be replaced or topped up?
Topped up, if what is there is dry, clean, and free of rodent activity: adding depth costs less than replacing. Replaced, if we find water damage, mold, contamination, or material so compacted it cannot recover. The inspection settles it before we quote, and removal is priced up front, never added later.
